Globalization is a process of interaction and intergration among people, companies, and governments of different nations; By international trade and investment. It stretches the social, political, and economic activities across all political borders, regions and continents. The growing magnitude of the connections with one another and the flow of trades, invesment, finance, migration, and culture. It can be thought of as the widening, speeding up, and growing impact of world-wide condition of connecting with one another. By conceiving of globalization int this way, it becomes possible to plan out and it also becomes possible to recieve patterns world wide links and relations across all key domains of human activity. Many people feel like our globalization is good and theirs no problem but many others disagree with the fair trades our governet tends to do. Theirs always an possitive and negative reaction to globalization. Theirs many ways one would like to change it but theirs always reasons to keep it the way it is.
Domestic violence and the effect on women and children can realte to globalization because some of the name brand stores like Gap, Forever 21, Walmart, Nike, Old Navy, Banana Repuplic, Hollister, etc. Some of these stores carry only women. Like a movie that we watched in digital humanities, Walmart has sweat shops. Their sweapt shop contains only women who get paid 7-11 cents an hour. They work up to 21 hours a day and have to sleep in the company for their next shifts. They only get one day off out of the whole month. The women in these sweatshops get really poor treatment by their bosses, it includes verbal abuse, physical abuse, and mental abuse. Women are put down and are being traumatize by the abuses being taken. Because of the international trades theirs always a supply and demand urgence, theirs always other people in third world countires who have to pay for their consequences.
If globalization was able to change i believe that some of the culters in different countries can change, when it comes to domestic violence. "They stay because the fear of leaving is greater than the fear of staying. They will leave when the fear of staying is greater than the fear of leaving." Rebecca J.Burns. Domestic violence is affected by many ways but i belive it is also culturaly. Women in Turkey are mostly Muslim, and have arranged marriages. Two main reasons of domestic violence in Turkey are because they have experienced it growing up, and their "...acculturation of patriarchal values..." (Alexander qtd. In Sahin, Timur, Ergin, Tapinar, Balkaya, Cubukcu, 2010). If globalization was able to change it would be a good isea to remove the sweartshops and have the government do something about them. Look after the international trades and make sure woman, men, and children arent affected mentaly or physicaly. If they are they should be entitled to health care.
The solutions would be effective because theirs many woman, me and children who have to suffer through some type of abuse. Having their job be one of their main abuses isn't right for anyone. Women, like the women that work for Walmart will have better wages, better health care, better hours, and most importanly they will not have to worry about being physicaly, or mentaly abused. They will know that work will become a safe enviroment to be in. Their culture and things they have to go through with their famillies would be one less worry.
